This is a full time Switchboard Operator position working at Northwest Medical Center.
PBX operators are responsible for answering a high volume of calls, both external and internal, and routing them to the appropriate department while practicing excellent customer service. PBX is also responsible for alerting staff to emergency codes within the hospital and following proper protocol for those codes
Operates a switchboard or telephone console to route incoming calls and place outgoing calls. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent with at least 1 year of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
