Full Time Night shift , 12 hour shifts 


The Surgical Technologist ( Scrub Tech ) in the Northwest Medical Center's Women's Center Labor and Delivery / OB , prepares operating rooms for surgery, using appropriate techniques.

 Assists in provision of intraoperative care by performing scrub duties. Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures. Follows hospital regulations and industry procedures to tend to patients during pre-operation procedures. Performs pre-operation preparations to the patient's skin, body and medical equipment. May be required to transport patient to and from the operating room. The Scrub Tech in L&D may also be responsible for clerical duties in the department and assists with restocking of items and cleaning as needed.



Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements

 Required Education:                

 Successful completion of an accredited (CAAHEP, ABHES, etc.) Surgical Technologist program


 Education required to obtain certification as a Surgical Tech as defined by NBSTSA or NCCT (i.e., two years of on-the-job training or seven years of experience working in the field)


 Military OR training program with two (2) years surgical tech experience required.                                                



 Preferred for Surgical Tech:

 Previous experience as a Surgical Technologist

 Two (2) years experience in a OB setting highly preferred.                                                



 Required: American Heart Association (AHA)  or American Red Cross (ARC) BLS       

 Preferred: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C)
