This Surgical Tech position is PRN days - No Nights, No Weekends, No Holidays! No Call! Great opportunity for an experienced surgical technician in a busy multi-specialty outpatient surgery center. Working at the Tucson Surgery Center located at 1398 North Wilmot, Tucson, Arizona 85712


Assists in the nursing care of the surgical patient by applying principles of asepsis to perform scrub duties and related activities for surgical procedures, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. Performs scrub duties according to specific unit policies and procedures: follows correct procedure for gowning, gloving and draping; participates in opening and setting up room; organizes stand and back tables neatly and efficiently; assists sterile gowning of surgeon and assistant, and assists with draping patients for surgical procedures as directed.  Assesses needs for patient specific procedure: checks physician preference card; checks patient charts for special needs / concerns (allergies, etc.); assists surgeon during procedure; initiates and maintains accurate sponge, needle and instrument counts with circulating nurse on indicated procedures; anticipates additional supply and instrument needs; properly handles specimens.
