Job Description

This Supervisor of Provider Clinics is a full time days position at Physician Clinics.

The Supervisor, Provider Clinics, manages daily operations of front and back-office physician practice with responsibility for achieving patient satisfaction, quality, compliance, financial and employee engagement goals.

  1. Plans staffing that effectively supports the care of patients, families and visitors. Ensures employees arrive to their assigned location, and arranges for coverage for same day call outs, escalating to Manager as appropriate.
  2. Ensures that the clinic is following all processes for effective & efficient daily operations that prevents unnecessary disruption to patient care and business operations. (Examples: appropriate supplies on hand, timely maintenance and repair services, effective patient flow, etc.)
  3. Provides support as needed to assure completion of daily operations. (Examples: staffing front line, pre-register patients, schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, verify insurance eligibility, processing prescription refills, etc.)
  4. Represents the practice as first point of contact for patient relations, managing escalations with effective customer service and sound judgment; involves Manager as needed.
  5. Provides skillful developmental and performance feedback to high and low performers at appropriate moments, including immediate constructive feedback for variances from standards and processes. Involves manager when repeated issues are noted.
  6. Develops effective physician relationships. Is able to deliver frank and effective feedback to physicians with the goal of appropriate practice management while striving for physician engagement.
  7. Ensures that all staff and physicians employed in the physician practice follow established policies, procedures and service standards including those that govern confidentiality, quality assurance program, risk management/safety, environmental and infection control standards. maintains all logs and records as assigned.
  8. Ensures competence of all clinic staff to support provider with medical office procedures and with clinical tasks, such as wound dressing, suture removal, injections, UA dips, EKG, Holter monitors, and other applicable office procedure depending on practice.
  9. Is competent in and trains staff in computer skills and use of applications, as required for the practice/specialty. Ensures appropriate patient care documentation in practice EHR including correspondence and required reports.
  10. Works to improve practice operations: Recognizes waste or inefficiency and corrects the issue. Takes on extra, short-term tasks to minimize problems or create opportunities.
