Sterile Process Tech / GI Scope Tech
This is a Full time Day shift position with call working in the GI Lab at Oro Valley Hospital.
Assists with preparing rooms with needed appropriate instruments, supplies and equipment. Assists with procedural set ups. Functions as part of the procedural team, anticipating needs of physicians, within scope of practice, during endoscopic procedures. Assists with positioning of patients during procedures, adjustments to scope equipment, palpates abdomen to guide scope. Exhibits through understanding of endoscopes and their workings. Ability to process and troubleshoot endoscope problems.
Sterilizes, cleans, wraps, stores and distributes supplies, instruments, and equipment used in patient care. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor
Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements
Education: HS Diploma or equivalent
Required: Post High School vocational/specialized training in a medical field or 2 years equivalent experience
Required: One (1) year healthcare experience.
Preferred: One (1) year of experience in a GI, OR or relevant area
Working knowledge of proper scope cleaning and sterilization; setting up rooms; bedside assistance with patients; computer skills and patient scheduling, a plus.
Required: American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
Preferred: PCT, MA or CNA Certification.
