RN PICC Position is a PRN Day shift at Oro Valley Hospital

The Vascular Access (PICC) RN participates in increased levels of care in a dynamic setting that provides quality care to higher acuity patients that require a Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter.

What you will do:

The PICC RN determines best vascular access for patients based on medications, diagnosis, and length of hospital stay and/or home IV therapy.

Reports directly to the patient's primary nurse and/or physician as needed. Troubleshoots and Declot VAD's or assists staff as a resource to unclot the line. Provides education regarding Vascular Access with patients, family and staff. Obtain consent and Cerner documentation. Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.

Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements

Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing ADN or Diploma Program required. BSN preferred.

Experience: Sufficient previous clinical experience in area of expertise.

Licenses/Certifications: Required: Current Arizona RN license or compact state license; BLS Basic Cardiac & ACLS ( American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
