RN - Lactation / Transition PRN Evenings
Job Description
This position is PRN, working at Northwest Medical Center Women's Center 2 shifts weekly
This is a position for a certified lactation consultant RN. IBCLC certification required.
We are a team oriented facility and patient centered. We promote growth and opportunity to implement evidence based care and a robust unit based council. This position requires staff to work throughout the Women’s Center facility in the role of lactation consultant with some postpartum/ well newborn RN duties.
This RN position will be based in the NICU and L&D unit for attending both normal and high risk deliveries, newborn transition, initiating skin to skin, early breastfeeding support, administering infant medications, monitoring infant blood glucose, attaining vital signs and family education online/in person.
Skills needed for this position include newborn stabilization and admission skills for both well and sick newborns. The RN should be able to identify newborn disposition and report problems to physicians and practitioners as needed along with identifying and correcting lactation problems.
The RN should be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the OB, NICU, and lactation field.
Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements
Education:
ADN or Diploma in Nursing Program, BSN preferred
Experience:
Clinical experience in area of expertise preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:
Required:
Current Arizona RN license or compact state license
Lactation certification (within 180 days of hire) IBLCE
BLS
NRP
