Job Description

The Residency Coordinator directs the daily operation of the residency program ensuring smooth flow of planning, preparation, and execution of program activities related to maintaining accreditation, recruitment, resident education, wellness and compliance with institutional and regulatory matters.

The Residency Coordinator is responsible for the operational and financial management of the accredited residency training program. The position requires a comprehensive and detailed understanding of national accreditation policies and hospital policies, as well as a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.

The Residency Coordinator will continually assess and direct a wide range of programmatic issues including long range planning, recruiting trainees, developing projects, analyzing administrative workflow, maintaining databases, communicating with faculty and trainees regarding a range of issues, and managing internal and external program relations. 

Ideal candidates will have a history of success in coordinating GME programs, be knowledgeable of ACGME and GME program Accreditation requirements, will be resourceful, detail-oriented, extremely organized, skilled at task prioritization and time management, demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, and will take a proactive approach toward problem solving.

Candidates will have an understanding of the dynamics and objectives of the residency program and develop an in-depth understanding of ACGME Institutional and Program requirements and policies. Proficiency with computer application and online resources is required. Knowledge of the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), National Residency Matching Program (NRMP), Accreditation Data System (ADS), FRIEDA and other database systems are highly preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of office administration experience, preferably in a healthcare and/or education setting.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
