Purchasing Clerk - FT
Performs a variety of duties to purchase material, equipment, merchandise and supplies according to hospital guidelines for cost, quality, and delivery.
Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors. Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals to perform a variety of tasks. Appropriate prioritization and planning skills, while achieving safety and quality in a high volume environment; Engaging and effective communication and service skills; Adherence to policy and procedures; Process improvement oriented; Self-initiative to assist with whatever is needed. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
