Job Description

This is a PRN (As Needed), Day Shift, Paramedic opportunity supporting Northwest Medical Center.

Summary:

Carries out therapeutic measures for patients in the Emergency Department while working with the emergency team as directed by the Administrative Medical Director or online qualified physician (per R9-25-204, 205), and ED Nursing Leadership.

Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements

Education:

Required: High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience

Preferred: Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training.
Experience: Required: One year experience in a pre-hospital setting.

Skills:

Perform Medical treatments, procedures, and skills that are within the scope of practice for a CEP as defined by ADHS & are also permissible by both Northwest Medical Center and the Administrative Medical Director. Appropriate prioritization and planning skills, while achieving safety and quality in a high volume environment; Engaging and effective communication and service skills; Adherence to policy and procedures; Process improvement oriented; Self-initiative to assist with whatever is needed.

Licenses/Certifications:

Required: AZ state CEP certification -OR- National EMS Certification as a Paramedic from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross(ARC) or American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) BLS, PALS and ACLS certifications.
