Job Description

The full time Operating Room (OR) Manager is the nursing manager responsible for the leadership and oversight of the OR Department and staff at Northwest Medical Center.

Summary:

Plans and implements the overall nursing policies, procedures, and services for a unit. Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training clinical staff. Ensures that nurses are current in competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training. May provide direct patient care and is responsible for assessing, planning, and evaluating patients. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. 

Under the guidance of the Periop Services Director, the Nursing Manager will be responsible for the day to day management of a large department, assist the CNL/charge nurse running the OR board, and will assist with regulatory compliance. 

Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements

Education:

Required: Associates degree or Diploma in nursing program
Preferred: Bachelors degree (BSN) in nursing.

Experience:

Required: Five (5) years experience in the operating room, and two (2) years of supervisory/management experience.

Licenses/Certifications:

Required: Current Arizona RN license or compact state license and American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross(ARC) BLS

Preferred: Nationally recognized certification in area of expertise.
