Job Description

This is a full time Nursing Manager with oversight and leadership over the operations of the Emergency Services department at Northwest Medical Center.

This position is a full time, exempt position, typically working a Monday through Friday work week during an Evening shift.  As a full time employee, the Nurse Manager is eligible for all offered Northwest healthcare benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401k, employee discounts, and more!

Plans and implements the overall nursing policies, procedures, and services for a unit. Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training clinical staff. Ensures that nurses are current in competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training. May provide direct patient care and is responsible for assessing, planning, and evaluating patients. 

As an organization leader, this position shares accountability for facilitating organizational and department goals using effective leadership knowledge, skills and abilities that ensure achievement of expected results for patient/customer service, employee engagement, financial health, business growth and quality and safety outcomes.

Education

Required: Associates degree or Diploma in nursing program
Preferred: Bachelors degree (BSN) in nursing.

Experience

Required: Five (5) years experience in an emergency room (ED) setting, and two (2) years of leadership or charge nurse experience.

Licenses/Certifications

Required:  Current Arizona RN license or compact state license and American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross(ARC) or American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) BLS

Preferred: Nationally recognized certification in area of expertise.
