Nurse Manager - Behavioral Health
Job Description
This is a full time nurse manager providing oversight and leadership for the Behavioral Health Department at Oro Valley Hospital, reporting to the Behavioral Health Operational Director.
This position is a full time, exempt position, typically working a Monday through Friday work week. As a full time employee, the Nurse Manager is eligible for all offered Northwest healthcare benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401k, employee discounts, and more!
As an organization leader, this position shares accountability for facilitating organizational and department goals using effective leadership knowledge, skills and abilities that ensure achievement of expected results for patient/customer service, employee engagement, financial health, business growth and quality and safety outcomes.
Plans and implements the overall nursing policies, procedures, and services for the Behavioral Health Unit at Oro Valley Hospital. Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training clinical staff. Ensures that nurses are current in competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training. May provide direct patient care and is responsible for assessing, planning, and evaluating patients.
Education
Required: Associates degree or Diploma in nursing program
Preferred: Bachelors degree (BSN) in nursing.
Experience
Required: Five (5) years experience in behavioral health, and two (2) years of supervisory/management experience.
Licenses/Certifications
Required: Current Arizona RN license or compact state license and American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross(ARC) BLS;
Preferred: Nationally recognized certification in area of expertise.
