Job Description

Day shift opportunity for CLIA-qualified Microbiology Supervisor at Northwest Medical Center. NMC performs centralized Micro testing for the entire Northwest Healthcare system. Must have hospital microbiology experience.

Organizes and directs the daily activities of the microbiology laboratory. Responsible for supervising laboratory personnel, conducting and overseeing quality assurance and quality control, and collecting, analyzing, and interpreting lab results. A level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor and will spend a portion of time working the bench. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals in collaboration with additional members of the lab leadership team. Performs a variety of self-directed tasks. This position typically reports to the laboratory director. Bachelor's degree in area of specialty is required and a familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures is expected. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a healthcare microbiology setting. ASCP (or equivalent) certification is preferred.
