Job Description

Opportunity for an experienced MT/MLT generalist to work as needed as PRN at the Northwest Medical Center free-standing emergency room in Vail. Must have availability to work at least one 12-hour shift per pay period and have some flexibility to cover open shifts for call-outs and vacation requests. Should be able to work independently as the only tech on site, Cerner familiarity is a plus.

 

Summary: 

Performs moderate and high complexity tests in the FSED clinical laboratory, both automated and manual.  Ensures that specimens are appropriate for test methodologies.  Documents all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed per departmental policy.  Assists customers with information regarding laboratory testing in a pleasant and professional manner.  Ensures that all tests are performed within turnaround time limits with review of pending logs and stat boards to maintain compliance.   Performs and documents all corrective action taken when systems deviate from laboratory established performance criteria.  Consistently uses critical thinking and problem solving skills to identify and correct issues that may adversely affect test performance or patient results. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of laboratory medicine is expected. MUST work well independently as only technologist on site.
