Medical Lab Tech - MLT/MLS

This is a full time night shift position for MLS / MLT generalist to rotate through all areas of the laboratory (chemistry, blood bank, hematology) at Houghton Hospital.
Performs moderate and high complexity tests in the clinical laboratory. Ensures that specimens are appropriate for test methodologies. Documents all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed. Assist customers with information regarding laboratory testing in a pleasant and professional manner.
Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements
Required: Associate of Science degree or experience, education or other parameters that meet CLIA Federal Register requirement.
Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree; qualified as MT/MLS throught a recognized certification agency such as ASCP or AMT with experience and examination."
Preferred: 1 year experience in clinical laboratory environment
Ability to read, communicate, and document effectively through oral, written, or electronic means. Excellent skills in customer relations. Demonstrates the constant ability to prioritize and respond promptly to a changing workload. Ability to respond to multiple situations and questions that require sound judgments and action for quality patient care.
Preferred: American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or American Medical Technologists (AMT), or American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB).
