Medical Lab Tech
$10,000 for Student Loan Repayments
As a Medical Lab Tech, at Northwest Medical Center, you'll play a vital role in doing what you do best- providing quality care to our patients. Requirements:
- ASCP (or equivalent) certification is preferred.
About the Job:
- Full time day shift generalist position at Northwest Medical Center, will rotate through blood bank and core lab on 1st and 2nd shift as staffing dictates
- Performs moderate and high complexity tests in the hospital clinical laboratory, both automated and manual.
- Ensures that specimens are appropriate for test methodologies.
- Documents all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed per departmental policy.
- Assists customers with information regarding laboratory testing in a pleasant and professional manner.
- Ensures that all tests are performed within turnaround time limits with review of pending logs and stat boards to maintain compliance.
- Performs and documents all corrective action taken when systems deviate from laboratory established performance criteria.
- Consistently uses critical thinking and problem solving skills to identify and correct issues that may adversely affect test performance or patient results. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of laboratory medicine is expected.
