Medical Lab Scientist PRN
$10,000 for Student Loan Repayments for Full Time employees
As a Medical Lab Scientist, at Northwest Medical Center, you'll play a vital role in doing what you do best- providing quality care to our patients. Requirements:
- ASCP (or equivalent) certification is preferred.
About the Job:
- Performs moderate and high complexity tests in the hospital clinical laboratory, both automated and manual.
- Ensures that specimens are appropriate for test methodologies.
- Documents all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed per departmental policy.
- Assists customers with information regarding laboratory testing in a pleasant and professional manner. Ensures that all tests are performed within turnaround time limits with review of pending logs and stat boards to maintain compliance.
- Performs and documents all corrective action taken when systems deviate from laboratory established performance criteria.
- Consistently uses critical thinking and problem solving skills to identify and correct issues that may adversely affect test performance or patient results.
- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of laboratory medicine is expected. MUST work well independently, familiarity with Cerner LIS is a plus.
