Job Description

This Insurance Verification Specialist is a FT-Days position. Verify insurance eligibility and pre-certification requirements for all admissions to the facility. Request pre-certification/authorization on admissions, complete any follow up needed. Multi-tasking, strong organizational skills, and an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines a must.

Position Summary:

Coordinates insurance verification on all admissions to the facility ensuring coverage meets the standards of admission as stated in hospital policy. Ensures all inpatients registered in the system have an identified payor source, insurance plans verified, notified and services authorized. Tracks observation patients and monitors to ensure patients are in correct status and plans are notified accordingly.  Provides Financial Counselors with inpatient liability due to ensure upfront collections.
