Job Description

The HR Generalist is a full time position working in the centralized office for Northwest Healthcare in Tucson, AZ.  

The HR Generalist is responsible for the multiple HR functions for an assigned organizational entity. Responsibilities include developing programs and plans for effective facilitation of HR programs, individual coaching to staff and leaders, assurance of regulatory compliance and tactics for effective employee hiring and engagement, and will include a significant focus on employee relations.

The HR Generalist must possess an expertise across a broad range of HR functional areas, including a primary focus in employee relations. The HR Generalist must display appropriate prioritization while achieving safety and quality in a high volume environment, engaging and effective communication and service skills, adherence to policy and procedures, and be process improvement oriented.  The HR Generalist must show self-initiative to assist with whatever is needed.

Administers human resources policies and procedures that cover two or more functional areas. Collects and analyzes HR data, and then makes recommendations to management. Processes paperwork for functional area according to established procedures. May prepare internal employee communications regarding compensation, benefits, or company policies. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. 

Education

Preferred: Bachelors Degree in human resources, business management or closely related field.

Experience

Required: Five (5) years of professional experience in human resources in a generalist capacity or experience with human resources functions such as LOA, FMLA, payroll or billing.
Preferred: Healthcare experience.

Licenses/Certifications

Preferred: Professional certification such as PHR or SPHR.
