Financial Counselor II
This is a full time position working days at Oro Valley Hospital.
Under general supervision, the Financial Counselor is responsible for financial assessment, conduct interviews with patients and/or family members, and coordinate establishment of payment for all patients.
Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements
Required: High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience
Preferred: Some college coursework
Required: Four (4) years related experience with two (2) years collections -OR- equivalent education or experience in a closely related field
Knowledge of applicable HCFA and other regulatory requirements, including third party payer procedures and practices required. Working knowledge of medical terminology, good human relations and analytical skills required, ability to use computerized Admitting/Billing system. Understanding of financial counseling .Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work with minimum supervision and act independently
