Job Description

This is a Full-time Day Shift Lead (7a - 3p) position weekends required in the Central Sterile department.

 

As a CSPD Lead Technician, you will perform and serve as a resource for decontamination, inspection, assembly and sterilization of all surgical instrumentation. Caregivers in this position will perform the role of a Lead as well as monitor others, be responsible for receiving and stocking inventory, and in the absence of Leadership, you will lead daily activities assigned to the SPD team or department. Your primary duties will include:

  • Providing technical expertise for all customers.
  • Troubleshooting all equipment problems that come up
  • Assisting with performance reviews and corrective action

Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical expertise for all customers, internal and external.
  • Troubleshoots all processing equipment problems, including washers, sonics, cart washers, sterilizers and the instrument tracking system.
  • Seeks ways to eliminate errors, reduce turnaround time, maintain work-flow and improve customer service.
  • Follows department standards when processing equipment, instrumentation, and chemicals.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on instrumentation.
  • Observes personal protective equipment standards in decontamination process.
  • Monitors and controls supplies and equipment, resolves any related issues.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the proper handling of equipment, instrumentation, and chemicals.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on instruments and equipment.
  • Observes personal protective equipment standards in decontamination process.
  • Directs the activities of the SPD staff.
  • Reviews shift reports to ensure adequate resources are available.
  • Other duties as assigned.
