Job Summary
The Business Development Specialist supports the growth and expansion of hospital services by marketing to area industries and increasing awareness of the organization's offerings. This role is responsible for managing existing contract accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and collaborating with the marketing team to enhance market share. The Business Development Specialist engages with community partners and industries to promote services and build strong relationships.
Essential Functions
- Manages existing contract accounts, routinely and regularly meeting with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for service expansion.
- Markets hospital and occupational health services to local industries, developing relationships to drive increased business.
- Collaborates with the marketing department to plan and execute quarterly marketing initiatives, including, but not limited to, newsletters, presentations, and promotional materials.
- Identifies potential growth opportunities for new services, working with leadership to develop proposals and pricing strategies.
- Represents the organization at community events, health fairs, and industry meetings, delivering key marketing messages.
- Assists in developing and analyzing customer satisfaction surveys, providing feedback to improve services and customer experience.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the organization’s services, managed care plans, and occupational health programs, ensuring accurate communication to clients.
- Prepares and presents sales plans and reports on business development activities, tracking progress toward growth targets.
- Organizes and participates in networking meetings with industry partners to promote services and build market presence.
- Supports the planning and coordination of community outreach events to enhance the organization’s visibility and reputation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field required
- 1-3 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing, preferably in a healthcare setting required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of sales and marketing principles, including market analysis and customer engagement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of occupational health services and industry regulations is preferred.
State Specific Requirements
- Arizona: If role is Behavioral Health Liaison, Handle with Care (HWC) certification required within 30 days of employment.
