Activity Therapist

This is a Full time position working day shift in the Behavioral Health Unit at Oro Valley Hospital.

Position Purpose
Oversees the overall therapeutic occupational/ activity programs to improve patients' social, leisure, psychological, cognitive and physical functioning. Assesses patients' leisure & functional capabilities, deficits/ needs and plans individual or group activities. In collaboration with interdisciplinary team members, develops individualized patient plan of care. Reports to Director of Behavioral Health.

Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements
Education: Preferred: Associate Degree for OTA program or other program relevant to patient activity programs.
Experience: Preferred: One (1) year of behavioral health experience
Skills: Appropriate prioritization and planning skills, while achieving safety and quality in a high volume environment; Engaging and effective communication and service skills; Adherence to policy and procedures; Process improvement oriented; Self-initiative to assist with whatever is needed.

Licenses/Certifications: "Required:
American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross(ARC) BLS certification.
Handle with Care certification within 30 days of start date

Preferred: Activity Therapy certification or National Therapeutic Recreation certification."
